Blue Murder

6 June, 2009

After walking in on her husband with his lover, DCI Janine Lewis (Caroline Quentin) is raising a family on her own and investigating murders in Manchester. The murders are gritty, the kids are a handful, and Lewis is brilliant. She is greater Manchester’s first female detective chief investigator and finds herself in the position of having to prove her worth to the creepy DCS Hackett.

Lewis is not “hot” and the murderers are not your typical television series psychos. They are usually just confused people who kill for reasons that you can believe make sense to them.

The series begins with a very pregnant Lewis facing her husband’s infidelity, her pregnancy, and a gruesome murder investigation.

This series was created by crime fiction author Cath Staincliffe, who has also written four of the episodes.
